My gf and i meet only once a weeks, four time a month, why she can meet her friends everyday Y not me ?
I'm sure she likes you, but she is choosing to take it slow and also have a life outside of dating you. Don't push for too much more too fast, why not ask for two days a week twice a month...then after a while up it again...
Reply:I don't know about your gf. But when I love my bf so much, I wish I could see him everyday, every minute.
Reply:How long have you guys been gonig out?
If you guys have different friends, maybe she wants to keep her friends just in case you guys break up, she won't be stuck with no friends.

Uh He doesn't want to meet any of my friends?
yeah, I've only heard of the possibility of it being the other way around where the person you're dating doesn't want you to meet their friends, but with my boyfriend he shows little interest of hanging out with me with my friends, yet PREFERS me to befriend his friends.
Strange huh? Why do you think this is?
Uh He doesn't want to meet any of my friends?
Maybe he feels like theyre judging him, or feels a little unconfortable. Bring up the subject with him, in a nice way though.
Reply:Well firstly unless ur not on a leash.... TELL HIM TO GET FKD!
Reply:It is you who find him not meeting your friends because it you who has termed him as 'shy'. If you change your opinion you will find him meeting all of them and more.
Reply:wow something is wrong with him lol. just let him chill im sure he will meet your friends. :)

When I move, how do i meet new friends?
Hi! I'm 15 and I am about to move out of this crappy place, and in to a better neiborhood. I have panick attacks when I get around people, in general. I am also bi-polar and sometimes i come off as a mean person, but I'm not. I have not went to anything social [ parties, movies, even walking to the store] in a year. I only have 2 friends from the old neiborhood that stuck by me and didn't leave me. I have panick attacks so bad that I am home schooled on the computer. I really want to meet new friends in my new neiborhood, but I don't like talking to people. Please help! Thanks
Note: I also do not know anyone from the neiborhood, at all
When I move, how do i meet new friends?
You have a fresh start. Make the best use out of it. Make yourself the best, funniest, most likable, hottest girl around.
Play some recreational soccer or something meet people there.
The key to having people like you is to make sure you can be like-able (now that I think about it thats common sense, but whatever). What that means is always laugh and always smile. DONT BE AFRAID OF REJECTION. Make corny jokes. Be open to new things (except drugs, etc) have your BFF's introduce you to people via get-togethers, im sure they could help. And act around other kids the same way you act around your bff's.
feel free to email me. laxy_taxi@yahoo.com, but dont if you dont want to. I dont want to seem like a sicko. I just want to give advice, I go to highschool and I know some kids in the same situation as you and I try and help them out and do what I can. I would love to help you.

Note: I also do not know anyone from the neiborhood, at all

Bless your heart. That's quite a load to carry.
I moved a lot as a child. The best way I found to meet people is to do what I like to do anyway. I went to church, drag races, the Y, etc. You don't even have to talk the first time or two. Just enjoy yourself. When you are having a good time you will be more relaxed.
I hope you are getting counseling and medication. I, too, suffer from panic attacks and with medicine and therapy haven't had one in a long time. I am not too familiar with bi-polar but know there's medicine for it. Having disorders like this is no cause for shame. It's chemical. So is diabetes. So do ever let anyone make you feel "less than".
Good luck with meeting friends. Remember, you are valuable and they are just as lucky to have you as a friend as you are to have them.
Reply:Hey just be your-self.Trust me if they don't like you they will stay away.I also have issues like yours.Only I have never moved. If you don't like talking write. The internet can do wonders.Try to relax.
Reply:HI, smiles and good attitudes attract people, being kind also attracts people and these people can develop into friends. Churches are always having activities. Join One! Join a club, an exercise club, hobby, some stores (hobby) give classes. Form a book club, out of your house....you sound like a really sweet, kind and there are ALOT of girls who want to be your friend...Please let me know how it goes,ok?
Reply:hmm. i think you need to let people know that your bi-polar and have panic attacks and if you seem mean it's not your fault.
Reply:Check out the local churches, may be a great place to meet guys your own age:)

What is the best way to meet new friends??
I recently started working a nine to five job, just my boss and I. Where I worked in the past, It was always with lots of people my own age with similar interest, and I always became good friends with. Question is, how do I go out and meet new people outside of a work place. I know a lot of people but on a "Hi" and Bye basis. How does someone who is shy meet new good people?
What is the best way to meet new friends??
Go out their and join extra-curricular activities in your school. Join clubs and do community service. In that way of socializing, you can meet many nice people who can eventually become your friends. It's actually a great idea.
Reply:Lots of churches have young adult classes. They worship together every week and meet for socials occasionally. You could join a health club - go bowling, hiking, biking. Go where others with your same values might be!
Reply:myspace,xanga,im-ing,adn e-amil
good luck!
Reply:the best way to meet new friends is to smile, complement something nice about them, say hi and see what happens after if they just ignore you there not a friend you would want if they do that's a good friend.

Where on the internet can i meet new friends not partners or lovers?
i am thinking of moving to Rockhampton in QLD Australia and would like to meet some friends before i move there. I would really like female friends but males are fine too.
Where on the internet can i meet new friends not partners or lovers?
Have you tried Tribe.net? Also, Myspace is a good place to meet friends. In LA there's a website called LAlinkup. You might want search and see if there is something like that in QLD. Also, before you head over, look google volunteer opportunities in QLD and see if anything comes up that might be something you'd be interested in doing... then email them. You could make a friend through that type of correspondence.
Reply:friendsters... or here. Its all up to you if u want to make them lovers. Just be careful on choosing them..

What is the best way to meet new friends and women in a big city like Dallas, TX?
I am 25 years old, and live in a big city. I want to know the best way to meet new friends here, as well as meeting women. I am not into the whole bar scene or anything, I work normal hours during the week at a good job, have a car, etc... but I just don't know where to go. If someone could help me I would very much appreciate it.
What is the best way to meet new friends and women in a big city like Dallas, TX?
In Dallas theres always some where to go.
I live in the same area.
The club scene is a good way to meet people but probably
not the type of people you want to know.
So go to the galleria or restaurants you have to talk to people,
people won't just talk to you make the effort.

I live in a big city and I need to make new friends. How can I meet new people (since there aren't people my age at my job)? The city is all about night culture -- and who can make decent new friends at a bar?! I'm not into that.... any advice?

Berry, check local newpapers or the net for social events for singles. What are your hobbies? There must be local groups, clubs or classes you could attend where you can meet other people with similar interest. Get yourself out and get involved in a community volunteer project.
Reply:www.myspace.com You can search for friends by location, name, gender, race, age, email, and so much more. Its alot of fun and I've met over 70 people this year. Its 100% free and its GREAT when you move. Good luck!

Reply:I'd recommend you go to a church or synagogue.
Reply:check personals in local yahoo!
Reply:Meetup.com has all sorts of interesting groups that meet and hang out. We go to a lot of meetup events it is usually a good group of people who are interested in similar topics and want to meet other people like them.

What do you like to do? What would you do if you weren't afraid to go out more? Talking to people is the easiest way to make friends. Another good way is to get a customer service job and be friendly and polite to customers. Hang in there and good luck.
Reply:I understand where you are coming from. I lived in a military family so we were on the move. What I did is get to know the new neighbors and ask there are any one your age. And get up the nerve and introduce yourself.
Reply:You don't like talking to people? Maybe you really don't want/need friends at all. If I'm wrong, well, hmmm, maybe an after school job perhaps?
Note: I also do not know anyone from the neiborhood, at all

She wants for me to meet to her friends?
It's our second date and she just texted me with "my friends cassie and jared are coming with us tomorrow. Is that ok?" it's good she wants me to meet her friends this early? and asked me beforehand?
She wants for me to meet to her friends?
It's a good sign, trust me. It means she's proud to show you off and wants you to get a closer look at who she is. Who you hang around with tells people a lot about who you are. It's a learning experience. And asking you beforehand to see if it's ok shows that she values your opinion and she wants the relationship to be 50/50. You're a lucky guy, have fun!
Reply:im gon tell u this YOU BETTER GO AND BE NICE TO HER FRIENDS, my girlfriend almost brokeup with me becuase i dint wanna meet her friends. she say if we gon be dating then u should be able to meet my friends. u better do it!!!!!!!
Reply:It's very good.
It means she's comfterable around you %26amp; feels you're not embarassing.
Reply:It may seem a little early to you, but being acquainted with her friends may tell you more about her. Also, it's a good sign that she wants them to meet you-she's probably pretty into you.
Reply:It's very polite of her to ask you beforehand... at least they didn't just show up! It's not like a dinner invite over to the 'rents place... chill out!
Reply:she obviously feels comfortable with you and thinks you're great..
let her show you off! ;)
Reply:so whats your question now
ou didnt ask anything
Reply:If she wants you to meet them it is to "show you off" to them-a very good beginning so....
Reply:Why not?
Reply:Are You already coming on too strong? She shouldnt want to bring her friends this early if she is comfortable with you. I would tell her that you would like to get to know her better and you would like to meet her friends at a later time, but lay off any heavy moves, if you really like her and dont want to scare her away.
Reply:its her way of doing the friend check...its bad if you dated any of her friends or if you dont act yourself in front of the friends..
it is good however that she is inviting them.. that means that she feels comfortable enough to boast about you or that she feels you will fit right in
Reply:I think this is great. She obviously likes you enough to have you around her friends. She must trust you too. This, to me, is good.
Be yourself and enjoy yourself!!!!
Reply:break the ice by telling them that you want to bone each of them in a certain order while they count backwards from 100, that ususally works
Reply:I'd be shy about this too! I guess you'll have to suck it up and meet them.
I guess it is also a good thing she wants you to meet her friends!
Reply:I don't know. It sounds like she isn't sure about you, so she is going to try and get a second opinion from her friends. Good luck! :)
Reply:I don't think that she is making plans for her wedding, I just think that she would like to see, how you inter-act with her friends, don't read more into it than there is. It could also be, that she had plans with them, and would like to include you.
Reply:That would be a good sign.
Reply:She is probably excited for them to meet you and I am sure that they want to know who you are.
I think it's fine to meet her friends...it's not like you are meeting her parents on a second date!! LOL.
Just be yourself and don't worry.....I am sure that they will think you are just as wonderful as she does.
Reply:I definitely think that's a good sign. Well, if this is someone you want to continue seeing, that is. If it's someone you want to be casual with, that's not a great thing.
But if it's someone you're interested in dating on a more than casual basis, it's a great sign that she's interested enough in you to introduce you to the other "regular" characters in her life.....
I also think it's great that she asked you beforehand. I'm shy and it really stinks to have something like that just kind of thrown on you. That was very considerate of her.
Reply:thats a very good thing, don't sweat it...she just wants you to meet her friends and hopefully you will like'em

How can I meet new friends?
I split up with my ex a few months ago and am new to this area. I work alone from home and I am finding myself getting isolated and down. I am in my 30's and have never lived alone or been so far away from my family and friends. I have a son who is at his last year of school so moving is not an option. He has his own social life and I am getting really down about how to get out there. It would be good to meet guys and women. Any ideas. I dont have a lot of money to spend so a gym is out of the question as my partner has just moved out shelving me with all the bills. Please help! x

Reply:Get off the internet and get out and meet people
Reply:Volunteer work or an evening job, local groups etc, even if you pop down to your local pub by yourself with a good book to read a couple of times a week you'll get to meet the locals and will strike up a conversation with them. Perhaps rope your son in to help you out - maybe go out for a pub lunch together, that kind of thing. Maybe you can take up a part time course (some may be available free if you're a low earner) flower arranging, massage or aromatherapy - that kind of thing. How about a puppy to keep you company and take for walks around your neighbourhood - get to know the neighbours as well if you can. Don't worry, it may take a little time but everything will fall into place eventually.
Reply:hello - if you are christian then joining a church is an idea. If not, what about joining an interest class %26amp; you'll meet people that like the same things as you.

Church would be my strongest advice you will meet kind wholesome people who are willing to reach out and make you part of the community. Just try out a few diffirent churches and I'm sure they have plenty of activities like bible study ect. that will get you out of the house and also help you deal with any stress/anxiety that may be a result of your partner moving out.

Trya club - historical society, book club, gardening club. I joined a yarn crafters club (we're all in our 30's and mom's) we call it a "stitch and *****". We meet every other Wednesday night - we crochet or knit, have some wine - and talk.

How do you meet new friends?
I am a single female and I would like to know how to meet new female friends in the Philadelphia area...
How do you meet new friends?
There's a group based in Philly and South Jersey called "Ladies 2000". Check out their website, they have events all the time.
I'm in North Jersey, so I usually don't travel that far, but I've been to their events at Paradise in Asbury Park and it's always a good time.
Reply:friends??? if they still exist you sure wont find them here.
Reply:I don't know about Philadelphia specifically, but here are some general ideas:
Search Yahoo groups for local groups on topics that interest you, and begin to meet people through the email and chatting. Perhaps you can find a group that meets publicly so you can attend and meet people with similar interests that way
You can go to places like a bookstore, and strike up a conversation with someone who looks interesting, browsing in an aisle that interests you too. Also try this at the library--you can meet lots of interesting people there.
If you are a spiritual/religious person, a visiting a church is a great way to meet new (like-minded) people. If you are G/L/B/T, look for a Unitarian Universalist church, which is liberal and welcoming to all lifestyles.
If you are specifically looking for relationships, check the local paper for singles gatherings, or special interest groups. Probably lot of that on the internet too. Google your interests, and include your location.
Hope this helps.
Reply:check your local LGBT site and see if their are any lesbian meetings or something.
Reply:clubs(not the party ones)
Reply:theres a gay paper w ads in the back . about half of them are girls looking for friendship and more .
Reply:go out in philadelphia and meet them would be the best thing

Have you had a chance to meet to meet online friends in person? How did it go?
I just came back from Y!Answers First Birthday Party where I got to meet a lot of my online friends and Y!Answers staff. It was such a wonderful and heartwarming experience, I was curious what experiences others have had in this area.
Did it seem strange when you met them? Have you kept in touch since you met?
Have you had a chance to meet to meet online friends in person? How did it go?
I met 3 friends. It was nothing to do with dating or sex. We were just good friends from a forum and had known each other for a year before we finally met. It was fun just like online. Had a good laugh. Yes, we still stay in touch and have a good time.
But in gerneral, for people who want to meet 'strangers/people' from internet, do meet only in public places. And be careful.

(Eventually one day he did) Then a month later I met him again for the second time, he tells me he is in love with me, and tells me I can use him to get over my ex. PSHYCO!
Guy # 2 - Stared at my boobs the whole time during dinner and made lame jokes.
Guy # 3 - Looked like a monkey, although nice but boring.
BAD EXPERIENCES!

How can i meet more friends?
i am in my late 20's and i work full time. I find many of my old friendships are fading, they are all so busy with life and career and people just drift apart. I don't go to church coz i am atheist, so where can i meet more people to make friends?
How can i meet more friends?
aww well, if you have at least one friend then maybe you can ask her to introduce you to her other friends and you can all hang out. or maybe call up some old friends and have a small get together party and rekindle some old flames =)

Reply:well I know some people find it hard to talk to new people as I used to be myself. why don't you try going to a pub and playing a game of pool it works well as you can put money down to play and in most pubs it's winner stays on so once it's your game then there is someone there and just have a chat through the game you never know you might like each other and become friends, but it saves the embarrassment of just walking up to someone sitting there when chat is the only thing to do. maybe not pool but something like that.

Reply:The old tabu about meeting people on the internet is out. I have had trouble meeting people also. I didn't want to make friends at work because that always bites you in the chis-am and going to the bar to meet people well forget that. I've found that meeting people on the internet is great. Chatting, then going to dinner or clubs till you get to know them better then group events and and back yard bar-b-ques. I'm having loads of fun with it but you do have to be careful but it's no more dangerous than meeting people in a bar.

Where can I meet Japanese friends?
I’m Asian American working in a Japanese firm but there is nobody my age that I can hang out with outside of work. I would like to experience the culture outside of work so where can I meet Japanese friends in their 20s?
Where can I meet Japanese friends?
I would ask some of the older people working in your firm, they probably have children, or younger people that they know in your community.
Reply:Well, since I don't know where you live I can only give you a broad answer. I would say Japanese bars, resturaunts, etc. Also, at the park, and any popular hang-outs for Japanese youth. There is also the local single ads. Hope my answer helps.
Reply:Japan?
Seriously, though, try seeing on Google if there is a Japanese social group in your area.

He wants me to meet his older friends?
ok so my amazing bf wants me to meet his friends. problem is i am 7 years younger than him and his friends....they are all married. one couple wants us to eat dinner at his house. they are thinking about kids while i am thinking about sorority rush and grades. what are we going to talk about? is this their chance to interview and judge me?
He wants me to meet his older friends?
you can talk about family interests, what ever comes to mind
Reply:might be there chance to judge you but just be yourself and make conversation. Stay away from politics!
Reply:Just be yourself, I'm sure they are aware of your age and situation.
Reply:yes, it is but it's a part of life...
Reply:just be yourself, thier is plenty of things in the world to talk about than kids. Think of some interesting topics of conversation.
Reply:Yes this is there chance. Good Luck

If we did not have anything in common, (music, sports, outdoor activities) then we would have different friends and most likely not be together.
If you enjoy kids talk about what you like about them, if not listen and learn. These people have knowledge, learn. If they ask why you are so quiet, a respectful reply is "I'm soaking this up!"
So relax, listen, join in where you have things in common. Learn about your BF's likes and dislikes. Learn about him. Make sure there isnothing about him you can't live with.
Reply:Don't be nervous, just cause they're older doesn't mean they're in a totally different world. You can talk about anything you want. If they talk about kids, mention how you feel about having kids, or tell them how you're only worried about school at the moment and can't think of having a family yet.
Be yourself, they will only judge you if you come out as trying to judge them.
Reply:so you all can have a threesome.
Reply:Talk about what's going on in both the news and sports
Reply:It sounds like to me that they are just being friendly.

Reply:Hey don't worry about it...I'm Bi and my GF is les.I met her friends and they are all older then me to.I thought the same thing before I met her friemds...They shouldn't judge you...Just relax. Everything will be fine.
Reply:Stop worrying so much. If he's amazing he wouldn't let something bad happen.
If you go into this with expectations of being judged, you'll be judged.
If you go into this with expectations of being loved, you'll be loved.
Your choice.

How can i meet new friends?
Iam 28 and i need new friends. How do i meet new people and where?
How can i meet new friends?
Any time you spend at home, there is no chance of making friends, whereas if you're out and surrounded by people, there is a much better chance. I would recommend starting with something that interests you and which involves other people. I have recently taken up Italian classes which has helped, plus going to the gym. You might not necessarily make friends straight away but if you meet people regularly there is more chance that you will. Good luck!
Reply:There's tons of ways, but they all start with you taking initiative. Start up a new hobby, like yoga or something that involves other people. Or, maybe go to a coffee shop and ask to sit at the same table as another person, then strike up a conversation.
Reply:People are EVERYWHERE. Get off the computer and go outside, Duh!!! In order to have friends you have to be friendly and be around real people. You can't just expect people to come up to you and present themselves to you.
Reply:start at work, try your neighbors, go out on the weekends, you need help if your 28 and don't know what to do
where have you been?
Reply:Try going out to a club...
Reply:do u remember ur old friends/ if u do then talk to them

Tell everyone on the net that wants to meet new friends to just go there and start talking till you find others that are doing the same as you. A local message board or chat room would be a great start.

I would like to meet new friends that are married in Australia?
....I live in Melbourne and would like to meet married couples ONLY FOR SOCIALISING - I have a child and it would be good to have friends to have around. It seems like when you get married yourself everyone just slips away and you realise it's just yourself and husband, we need to expand our circle of friends whats the best way to do this? - I don't like using the internet because you can get all sorts!!! just wanting some normal people to socialise with
Thanks :-)
I would like to meet new friends that are married in Australia?
i think you can socialize with your neighbourhood.. or maybe by joining some social organization or church can help you with these..
Reply:I am not married yet, and I live in Sydney but I just found out I have a baby, so I'll prob be getting married soon. If ya want we can try to become friends.
Reply:You can join a church usually the older ones such as Uniting or Baptist or Catholic or you can ask your Council of groups in your area. There are young Motheres Groups there are Local Neighbourhood Houses you could run an ad in your local free paper and start a your age group of people you would be surprised how many who are in the same boat especally those in newer housing estates without ordinary infastructure for families. You could find some volunteering and meet others who do the same good luck

Do you look down on people who meet their friends/boyfriends/girlfriends on the internet?
One of my friends asked me how I had so many other friends from different towns, and I told her that I met them through myspace. So she just said "Oh" in a really kind of snobby way. I asked her why she said it like that, and she said that she thought I wasn't one "those" people, and she said that she doesn't "need the internet to make friends".
Do you guys have that same attitude or do you not see anything wrong with using the internet to meet people?

Guys Only......After being together 6 years my boyfriend won't let me meet his friends. Is this normal?
I would like a man's opinion on this.
Me and my BF have been together for almost 6 years. I'm 26 %26amp; he is 31. He has never made it a point to let me meet his friends. In all of the time we have been together I have only met some of his friends once a few years ago because we bumped into them when we were out somewhere together. He didn't even introduce me. I also know he has a lot of chick friends too. I haven't met any of them either. When he hangs out with his friends I am never invited along even though they bring their girlfriends along too sometimes. I've asked him several times if I could meet his friends and he always says maybe next time or I just want to hang with them by myself. Is this normal? He's met all of friends. What do you guys think? Any advice would be great.

i don't think it is normal at all
especially after 6 years?
one of the great joys of a ltr is sharing
this includes family and friends
do you suspect he's hiding something
or possibly ashamed?
maybe you should dtmfa
honesty should be at the core of any relationship
Reply:its easy. He doesn't want you in his other circle. His always around you so much that he needs some space and he finds that space with his other friends. And inviting you wouldn't give him anything that he can do without you. Make sense?
Reply:maybe he is afraid of bumping into his wife someplace, or his fiancee..drop the nut.he is selfish.
Reply:In six years have you made it known to him you would like to be included in his get togethers? If not, he might just be married and his friends know who his wife is so he pretends you aren't there or that your not that special.
He would have introduced you at 3-4 months into the relationship if he was on the up and up. Since he hasn't make it clear that he is disrespecting you, he probably assumes you've done this before.
Ask him "how's your wife doing?" and see if you get a response.
Reply:I think you should let him go. He's up to no good. Don't waste your time anymore...
Good luck

Reply:No. If he doesn't want you to meet his friends, it means he have something to hide from you. There's no honesty in your relationship. Or maybe he doesn't his friends know that he already had a gf for some reason. Dump him!!

Reply:He either has no friends, his friends are weird, or he is embarrassed of you. This isn't normal behavior.
Reply:Highly abnormal. He suffers from insecurity and selfishness and hence no trust has developed from his side even after 6 years. You may find it difficult to live with him if you marry. Such mentalities do not create the best of relations.
Reply:Is that the way he is ruling you? And you allowing him for 6 years. To tell the truth there is something he is hiding from you. So what you do if it is hard for you to know his friends through him find them out by yourself - that is without his involvement.

Reply:A man's opinion ... I know, I know but I couldn't help myself. Of your respondents so far, only Mike seems to be able to take a man's view of this.
Your boyfriend is one of those guys who likes to keep his romantic relationships separate from his friendships. There's nothing essentially wrong with this since you are by implication at liberty to do the same.
Men need space (just ask one). Your boyfriend needs his. And that is what his friends are for. You nagging him about it is not helpful. You'll only make him feel guilty for trying to satisfy his need for space.
Let the man be and let him enjoy his friendships. They're not hurting you and they are doing him a great deal of good.
Reply:I think that is the weirdest thing i've ever heard! I would wonder why he won't let you meet them? coz there is obviously a reason
Reply:honestly - as bad as it sounds , chances are he is seeing more than one person or doesnt class you as his girlfriend - or maybe he is married??
Reply:Either he is ashamed of you, or he has something to hide from you. In both cases he doesn't deserve you! Treating you like this after 6 years is something you can't tolerate.
Reply:er, it took you 6 years to ask this question?
drop him. he's not for real.
Reply:I think for some friends he does not want you to meet is fine... But at least you should be able to meet friends that he is comfortable with....
You may want to persist and take his offer up..when ever he mentioned "next time?|" then just remind him again..
There is no point making a BIG issue out of this... not worth it...do it slowly..perhaps he may have his own reasons after all..
take care..

Why is it so hard to meet true friends?
I find wherever you go,that there are so many people, yet it's so hard to have any of them as true friends. Are people just too caught up in their own lives and agendas, to really have the time to care about others?
I seriously have met alot of people throughout my life but, many of them were fair-weather friends, only there when the going got good, or were somewhat phony, and were only there because they wanted something from you.
How do you avoid all this crap and meet truly good people?
Thanks.
Is it possible nowadays?
Or is everyone too busy making that buck?
Why is it so hard to meet true friends?
cause people SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Yes, well I have found you have to be selective where you meet your friends first. And then you have to be selective on who you choose to be your real friend. Everyone is a potential friend, just like they are you potential enemy. But if that person is not a friend you keep them out of your life completely. There are different times in my life where I thought I had to be someone's friend to get ahead and those type of people you don't want as friends. Then there are "friends" you meet in a bar that forget you the next day. Then there are millitary friends or "battle buddies" you might pickup in stressful situations they could be friends for life or just until you get shipped somewhere else. There are friends you meet in church. They may be great until your going through something horrible and then you find out who your truest friends are because they will stick by you no matter what happens. Actually in my church I am happy to say I have found true friends. Because no matter what was going on in our lives they have stuck by us. But I have been to many churches in my life where this was not the case. A true Christian is a friend anyone else in a church maybe just playing at it, but it is good to be selective on who you really choose to be friends, because a true friend is more valueble than gold. I say do something you love meet people that have like intrests as you do it might steer you into a better quality of friends.

It's true that it's hard to have a true friend cuz speaking for myself, all my 'girlfriends' worked during the week days and they have a family and that bloody routines again and again. Some have their hobbies and we can't change a person to be of what we wished him to be.
Some people are shy and indoors and perhaps also egoist.
I dare to say this because i came accross these types too.
They worked and don't think of enjoying life.Like you've said, they're busy.
But what are they busy of?......
they're busy to IGNORE you. That's why they are busy.
For some people,it's better to be alone than to be in
a bad company. In the company of people who are busy to ignore.Real friends are sincere, they'd always listen to you
and be heard.

yes, finding wholesome, true friends is difficult. But they
do exist. I have several very good friends that are honest,
and accept me for who I am, not what I am.
Alot of people look for friends in the wrong crowds.
They want friends that are in the phony, high-upscale crowd.
Have you ever looked outside the box to find a friend??
Yes, people are busy. But if you mingle with folks that
have the same interests as you, or people that do
wholesome activities, you'll find good people.
Bars, nightclubs, concerts are not the right place to
find good friends (been there, done that)......go to
festivals, parks, work-out places (gyms), museums,
sports activities....there you will find someone that
shares an interest the same as you. Broaden your
standards to all types of people, not just a certain
crowd.
Reply:I think that is true for most people. I only trust and am a true friend to a few people. yes i talk to and hang out with a bunch of people but i can't be everything for everyone. I can't spread myself that thin it is just not possibel. I suspect the same is for other people. There is a saying that people come into your life for a reason, life time or a season. I found that to be true. I know there are people i was close to in college that i have not seen or talk to in years.
Reply:people nowadays are too focused on themselves (sometimes) plus they are looking out for themselves. i have found that most people that are like that do it because they themselves are afraid of getting hurt...so they have to beat the other person to the punch, no knowing if the other person wil really hurt them or not...idk it is just how most people work

What is the best way to meet new friends? I want to find new Friends that also have kids.?
I am a young mommy, All of my best friends are living the single girl in the city life that I just cant be a part of. My Husband and I are in our mid twenties and want to find people to hang out with that also have kids and can relate to us better. But we haven't been able to meet anyone for a while. We love spending time as a family but it would be nice to meet new people that also share our day to day expieriences.
What is the best way to meet new friends? I want to find new Friends that also have kids.?
I don't necessarily have a solution, but I find your question interesting as my husband and I are in the same situation. I am from a very small town where it is hard to meet anyone new. If there's anyone you know of (like an acquaintance, no one you really KNOW) you could start out by suggesting a play date w/ the kids, and see if eventually as adults you could do couple things; going out to eat, movies, bowling; things of that nature. Good luck to you!
Reply:Are there play groups you can join in your area? Bookclubs? My husband and I met some our closest friends at a restaurant. We were in line waiting on a table and decided to join forces with another couple waiting. It was quicker to get a table for four than two each so we decided to make an evening of it.
Reply:Most towns have mommy's clubs. Call your local chamber of commerce. Also, church is a good place.
Reply:Go to the park and see what other parents are there and strike up a conversation. Anyone in the neighborhood with kids you can hang with maybe?
Reply:u should meet ur childs friends parents or u could meet some people at a gym, or ur neighbors and their friends

Where to meet new friends other than at work?
I'm in a busy job, and my family lives elsewhere. Everyone at work has a partner to go home to (I don't) or never feels like going anywhere. But, I don't have a lot of time outside work to do volunteer work or play sport to meet new people. I even work weekends alot. Any ideas for a single girl to make new friends?
Where to meet new friends other than at work?
I'm in the same situation, except that I also go to school so I can meet people there.
What about the gym? I'm not talking about just going to work out solo, although you may meet people doing that, but perhaps joining an exercise class.
Other ideas:
dog park
sierra club
book clubs
wine clubs, etc. etc.
It is tough when you spend so much time working.
Reply:Sounds like you need to slow down your work schedule. You never know when or where you might meet that special someone. Try the church, supermarket,or the library. If you have vacation time, go on a singles cruise. Stop being so anxious. When it's time, the right person will turn up!
Reply:Stop working so much! Is there really such a need?
Reply:well you really limited yourself
spiritual meetings are a good place such as church
Reply:the gym, library, coffee shop, stores, anywhere isa good place to meet people, have courage, notice something u two might have in common, (sounds stalkerish, but it really isnt) and just strike up a convo. its pretty ez XD

Traveling to her city to meet for 1st time. She wants me to also meet her group of friends?
It's "stressful" enough just meeting for first time but to also have to meet with her group of friends, it seems more like on display or judgement. This is a weekend thing and perhaps, if we are interested, perhaps meeting her friends the next time we get together would be better. Want decisions to be based on us and not outsiders for the first meetings...its distracting enough without having to deal with her friends the first time? I don't mind meeting them, but again want this about us and not them and us....Thoughts, ideas, reasons?
Traveling to her city to meet for 1st time. She wants me to also meet her group of friends?
Maybe its a safety issue for her to have people around. If she insists don't push her to change her mind and go with the flow. You arent a bad guy right? so why worry about the Jury?
Reply:Chances are she is really nervous about meeting you. That's why she wants her friends with her. Talk to her and tell her that you'd rather meet her and maybe next time meet them. Tell her you are just as scared as she is.
Reply:Tell her how you feel. She may just want her friends for support. She may be nervous about meeting for the first time. I met my guy for the first time face to face on a kid date. He brought his neices and I brought my kids and we met at a park. It helped me be less nervous.
Reply:If she's bringing friends then why don't you too?
Reply:Dude girls are always going to do this. There friends tell her how they feel about you and rather you are right for her. I understand how stressful this is but just be yourself around them if she wants you to meet her friends cause girls do know when you are lying and not true. Also talk to her and tell her how you feel about meeting her friends. Tell her you would rather meet them next time and if she still pushes you to meet them then like I said be yourself. Good Luck

Wheres the best place to meet new friends to go out with??
www.meetup.com
This is a great place to meet new people. Just choose your nearest city and it lists all sorts of meet ups according to what you're interested in. Check it out!
Reply:a lot of places.. go to meetings (@ church, town meetings etc) or try making some friends over the internet from the same town/city and maybe you can meet up. =]
Reply:well if you are in school that would be a place to start .. or work ... or check into a local gym or some other groups or organizations
Reply:Try becoming friends with girls at places that you like to shop or hang-out, or even in your job. Once they find out that you are a pretty cool person they might want to start hanging out with you and then introducing you to their circle of friends.
*You also might wanna try some social-networking sights like Myspace or Facebook to reconnect with previous friends and make plenty of new ones based on common interests.

How to meet new friends??
Ok..I am 38, married two kids...one with autism and one I homeschool. I have been a stay at home Mom for many years and love it. In Nov. we moved to a new city. I started getting involved with local homeschool groups so my daughter and I could meet new people. Shortly after the holidays, our second car died and we can't afford to replace it. Naturally, my husband has to have a car for work (hour long commute so can't drop him off). No worries as there ways to work around it. Then my daughter was seriously hurt in a sledding accident (broke her leg, both her arms, dislocated her knee). The first six weeks she had to stay in bed. Now she is doing great, mobile and ready to get out. BUT, with her leg having to stay straight because of the cast, we can't carpool easily and it is tough to go anywhere. I am feeling totally isolated and we both have not had the chance to make many (really any) new friends before all this happened. Any ideas???
How to meet new friends??
You are a very tough woman indeed having to go through all this and remain positive. What I can suggest to research or ask around for groups or orgs or even non-profit organizations in your neighborhood. Being a part of a team bring not only a lot of friends but a meaningful and productive life.

Places To Meet & Make Friends In Melbourne?
Me %26amp; My fella are backpackers from the UK. We've been in Melbourne for nearly a month now and have yet really to get out there and meet people and make friends. Just wondering what melb gays are like, friendly??pretentoius??? etc etc
Places To Meet %26amp; Make Friends In Melbourne?
Melbourne is one of Australia's friendliest gay and lesbian places.
Reply:um, try not to fit them into a certain steriotype. of course some are friendly and others are pretentious. just go with the flo
Reply:Assuming you mean Melbourne in Australia and not the USA (though it probably doesn't make any difference) they are the same as everywhere else. One pub will be full of pretentious pretty boys, being too good for anybody (The Exhange). Another pub will be full of leatherette queens (Laird O'Cockpen) more interested in playing pool. Then another would be... well it's all the same around the world... just the names of the pubs are different! Just go to Commercial Road in Prahran if you want pretentious and north to Gipps Street, Collingwood if you want leather/grunge. Good luck, I endured it for 15 years in Melbourne, previously 2 years in Sydney and the previous 20 years in London. Now I have "retired" to the coast I can look back but can't see any differences!

Girls only: is important for a girlfriend to meet my friends?
i dated this girl for 4 months. she only met one of my friends. she is a party girl. the friend she met is kinda reserved. she never got a chance to meet my more out going friends. can this have an affect on the relationship. or is it more important how she views me, not how she sees me when im out with my friends
Girls only: is important for a girlfriend to meet my friends?
Well, i think you should let her meet some of you friends! So then she can see what kind of guy you are outside dates! :D good luck with that!
Reply:Well i would say let her meet all of your friends the good and bad ones. I think it will make the relationship better, if your friends dont start drama behind your back.
Personally I love meeting my boyfriends friends it makes me feel like he really cares about me and wants to show me off to everyone. Also i can just go out with all of them and have a good time and be myself around them. Guys are always fun to be around.
I hope I could help!
Goodluck!

I took my gf to meet my friends and I'm not sure wha to do about what she did.?
I took my gf out to meet some friends of mine and I wasn't very happy about the results. One of my friends works around medical chemicals and so carries the smell with him outside of work. He was completely respectful and polite to my gf, but my gf became very standoff-ish to him b/c of his chemical odor. She was responsive and jovial with all the other friends though. It really sucked because although he didn't say anything, I could tell my friend felt left out. Her response to when I brought it up to her later was, "I didn't mean to be mean, I just couldn't take his smell. He smelled bad."
Why would a girl would be disinterested in everything about a guy just for his smell? WIll she ever warm up to him? Is this girl just special?
I took my gf to meet my friends and I'm not sure wha to do about what she did.?
You just have to understand that a lot of people have sensative nosesI know I do, there are certain scents that make me sick, or sometimes even dizzy. She was nice enough not to say anything, but if she cannot handle the smell, then you cannot force her to ignore it. Honestly, the best you can do is just keep them from around eachother. Or, on a day when your friend doesn't have to work, or has had a chance to clean up, hang out with them together, and that way she can get to know him a little better. Maybe once she does and she realizes that he is actually really cool, she might be able to over look the whole smell thing.
Reply:lol. stop analyzing it so much.
Reply:Sounds like you picked a winner there...
Reply:if she cant respect your friend for what job he has, i dont know, but your friends were their before her , and if things dont work out your friends will still be their. goodluck
Reply:well at least she was honest to you. she couldnt very well tell him he stinks now could she? sounds like she wasnt actually mean but only he smelled bad. whats a girl to do?
Reply:Your girlfriend "needs to get a life". She must learn to accept all things in life or pack up and go to another planet where there are no chemicals [she must have a stuffy attitude]. In any event, just don't take her around him again. Most girlfriends are immature to things of life, and maybe you have found just the girl who is allergic. Maybe you should look for another girlfriend, or keep the one you have, but she needs a little more refining and she needs to use less of her nose. This is worst than the white glove test!
Reply:Some people just dont like to be around people who smell bad.
Reply:let any one walk up on a stinker and chances are the same reaction will occur, friend need to bathe and change his clothes if he hopes to have people around him!
Reply:dude, that was rude, she should have just put up with it no matter how bad instead of ignoring him
Reply:No offense your girlfriend sounds kind of stuck up to me. I could understand if she didn't like them for a good reason, but if your friend was polite to her and actually wanted to get to know her there is no reason for her to be so immature as to blow him off just because of odors. I'm sure she wouldnt smell like roses if she worked there either.
Reply:I'm not sure whats the big idea about a chemical smell? B.O is one thing. you were probably excited for your gf to meet your friends and she acts pretty low. I think you need to have a talk with her and no...shes not special...just rude
Reply:Well would u like to be around a stinky girl? Same situation really. And from what it sounds like, she doesn't have anything against him personally just kinda not feelin the whole "the dude smells funky thing." Maybe just talk to her about how she can be better towards him w/out having to think about the smell constantly. Maybe talk w/ur friend too?
And dont be hatin' ur gf, she's not like TOTALLY agaisnt this guy so....
Reply:Obviously she was not liking the smell too much. You could have warned her about it. I am sure things will get better. That is not a big deal. Your gf can appologize when meeting him again. Tell your friend to shower up after work, so's not to offend other people. I am sure he's very nice.
Reply:Hey man, who wants to be around somebody that sticks. I don't think medical chems could be that bad but whatever. Bring her around in a situation where your friend isn't that way. Give it another shot and then see how it goes. She could be real cool and just can't put up with that. Just pay attention to her reaction in other situations with your friends. Keep in mind. Women have a way more sensitive nose than we do. Either way some of the hideous smells we put up with i.e. the locker room, football pads, our *****, sweat, their *******, all the other junk you can think of, girls are appaulled by. Don't jump to conclusions. Everything should be fine.

My boyfriend dosen't want to meet my friends. Is this a bad sign?
Me and my b/f (im 18, he's 23) dosent want to meet my friends. We just had a daughter after bein g together for
2 1/2 yrs and my friends were throwing me a dinner party in honor of the baby. He refuses to come b/c he said he'll feel uncomfortable. We plan on getting married and I dont want this to be a problem. My friends are a part of my life and so is he. I would think he'd want to meet them. Am I wrong for being upset?
My boyfriend dosen't want to meet my friends. Is this a bad sign?
You are not wrong for being upset. He should definitely meet your friends, but maybe in a different setting. And maybe not all at once. He could just be uncomfortable being around that many new people all at once. Maybe introduce one friend at a time and go from there. He should get along with your friends, and see them from time to time. But they are YOUR friends. Just because you two are practically married does not mean that he has to be friends with them too. Meet them and associate with them from time to time, but be "best buds" or whatever, not necessary.
Reply:you aren't wrong, but be nice to him. i was shy about meeting my husband's friends when we were dating. i didn't really fit in with his friends. but even though i felt uncomfortable around them, i tried to spend time with them because i love my husband so much. if he loves you, he should be able to ovecome whatever it is that's stopping him from meeting your friends. give him some time, and if you picked right, he'll come around!
Reply:sounds fishy. good luck and god bless, though. i'll pray for you, for what it is worth.
Reply:u guys were dating for 2 yrs and he never meet ur freinds? thats kinda wierd i think but hes gonna have to meet them eventually...
Reply:WELL MAYBE HE JUST REALLY FEELS TOTALLY UNCOMFORTABLE. HE MUST THINK THEY ARE GOING TO DISLIKE HIM IN SOME WAY. TRY TO MAKE HIM FEEL COMFORTABLE. EXPLAIN TO HIM HOW YOUR FRIENDS ARE. DO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE GETTING MARRIED. NO MARRIAGE PLANS SHOULD CONTINUE WITH DOUBTS IN MIND.
Reply:He's not comfy ok, that's not a problem they are ur friends not his, it would be nice if they got along but it's not a must. Now u, u need ur friends, i have this best friend and sometimes without her i don't know what i'd do, and i have my boyfriend but he doesn't know me like she does so he couldn't help me through some stuff she does. Him keeping u from ur friends is a bad sign, you need to let him know it's ok if u don't like them but they are my girls. U'll know good friends from bad ones, and the good ones you need to keep, because if something is going wrong with you sometimes they see it before u do. Plus if u cut them off and he steps out of line who's gonna come to your rescue?? :) girl i'm joking about the last part. If u loose ur girls u'll depend on him alot, and when u do that people tend to let u down, u need to spread it around a little.
Reply:Nope he should meet them I dont think u wanna marry somebody that doesnt want to meet your friends it seems to me that ur b/f has some kind of problem
Reply:maybe he feel bad that ur friend might get mad at him....make fun at him...?maybe hes a shy guy...OR MAYBE ITS THE AGE DIFFERENCE but i feel so sad...=[
