How do you meet new friends??

i want to meet new friends... im 16 and want to meet new people (where i live) but i dont no how i mean you cant just walk up to some1 and talk to them coz that makes you look weird if you know what i mean. i guess i can make new friends when i start college but i want to make friends earlier but how??

Reply:well, why don't you start by making small talk with children's neighbor near your age? i mean, there must be lots a 16 years old teens hanging out there. honey, if you don't have the courage to approach them, you'll never be able to meet new friends, or even get the chance to have one. i know it feels weird, but if you're really that in bad want of a friends, start mustering up your courage and be the first to say 'hi!'. simple talk can build friendships; it doesn't matter if it doesn't work the first time, at least you know that you're not as shy anymore, and coming up to them will better improve your communication skills you'll be needing in college. =)
Reply:Walk up to 'em and talk as if I've been knowing them since a long time...u might come across a lot who might not be interested in talking wid u...dont think ur stupid...u'll sure find someone to get along with...be polite and descent during yr first talk...dont go blah blah blah and say something which might not be acceptable...


try not to approach a group cuz they might end up making u feel awkward, rather talk to a neighbor or anyone u think u can be friends with...I'm sure anyway u'd make lots n lots of friends in college...good luck.
