What is the best way to meet friends when you move to another state?

I have lived in this state for about a year and have not made any friends.

What is the best way to meet friends when you move to another state?
What activities are you interested in? Do you like to hike or arrange flowers or folk dance?





What are your spiritual/religious beliefs?





Look for activities that you enjoy and you will find people who enjoy the same things. Join a religious organization, volunteer in a community garden or local community theatre.





If your work does not require you to put in long hours or travel out of town, look in your local newspaper or on bulletin boards of your local bookstore or coffee bar for events, meetings, classes or activities that appeal to your interests.
Reply:The best way to meet friends is to create experiences whereby you go to the same place at the same time, on a regular basis. For example: If you like sports, try your best to get on a team or to help with team activities. If you like bowling, join a bowling league. If you like art, take an after school art program at your local Boys and Girls club.. Or if you go to church, make sure to sign up for activities people your age. When you go week after week, to the same place as someone else, (if you're taking a typing class for example,) you just naturally get relaxed around these people and start talking to them and sharing and laughing.. Just don't be too impatient. Sign up for something and go there. Never miss. Help others when you are there. Be friendly and kind and nice and you will make great friends, just like you had where you lived before.. Does this make sense to you? Good, now get out there and find some things to commit to and you will have good friends soon.
Reply:Some trees grow very tall,straight, and large in the forest close together, but others must stand alone or they won't grow at all.

Reply:Join a gym. Join an outdoor club, skiing, rollerblading. That's if you are the active type.
