Do you look down on people who meet their friends/boyfriends/girlfriends on the internet?

One of my friends asked me how I had so many other friends from different towns, and I told her that I met them through myspace. So she just said "Oh" in a really kind of snobby way. I asked her why she said it like that, and she said that she thought I wasn't one "those" people, and she said that she doesn't "need the internet to make friends".





Do you guys have that same attitude or do you not see anything wrong with using the internet to meet people?

the internet is a good way to meet people as long as u take time to screen them

Reply:i don't think there's anything wrong with meeting people through the Internet. I probably wouldn't date someone that i met through the Internet, but also try to be very cautious, you don't know what kinda a people are out there

I also feel it is better to try to make friends in the real world..


A lot of people sit for hours, and hours talking only to people on line instead of being out in the real world with real people ..





People do tend to avoid life, and doing things , and meeting real people..





I am not saying that the people on line are not real ..


I just find it to be a bit unhealthy ..





I am not judging you ...


( I can just really understand where your friend is coming from )

Reply:Eh, I'm fine with people having online friends. But once you get to relationships [like boyfriend/girlfriend] type things it gets weird. Online dating is weird, but if you have a myspace and lots of friends, well that's fine.

Reply:I do not see meeting people on the Internet as a bad thing, however, there are a lot of crazy people in this world and I would prefer to meet people face to face.
