I am a single female and I would like to know how to meet new female friends in the Philadelphia area...

How do you meet new friends?
There's a group based in Philly and South Jersey called "Ladies 2000". Check out their website, they have events all the time.





I'm in North Jersey, so I usually don't travel that far, but I've been to their events at Paradise in Asbury Park and it's always a good time.

Reply:I don't know about Philadelphia specifically, but here are some general ideas:





Search Yahoo groups for local groups on topics that interest you, and begin to meet people through the email and chatting. Perhaps you can find a group that meets publicly so you can attend and meet people with similar interests that way





You can go to places like a bookstore, and strike up a conversation with someone who looks interesting, browsing in an aisle that interests you too. Also try this at the library--you can meet lots of interesting people there.





If you are a spiritual/religious person, a visiting a church is a great way to meet new (like-minded) people. If you are G/L/B/T, look for a Unitarian Universalist church, which is liberal and welcoming to all lifestyles.





If you are specifically looking for relationships, check the local paper for singles gatherings, or special interest groups. Probably lot of that on the internet too. Google your interests, and include your location.
