Is it acceptable to meet friends online?

I am so tired of my current group of friends. I want to meet new people and have no idea how to do it, then thought hey... why not online? What do you think?

why not. good place to meet people. you can email folks through here without giving out your email addy so that generally works.
Reply:that's what i did when my friends didn't really supported me. i met some really great people online and heck i talk to them more than my personal friends. the ones i met online have helped me a lot, however you have to be careful too, for viruses, etc. but i'm sure you know that already. online friends are great, but sometimes, u also start to lose in touch...
Reply:the jury's out on this one, so many dangers on the internet but great rewards if u get to meet the good people on here. If u do try this out always make sure someone knows about it %26amp; where u meet, etc.
Reply:If you are 18 or over, and meet people in public where there are less likely to be issues, then it can be a great experience.





My best real life friends are people I either met originally online, or through someone I'd originally met online.

Most my friends are online and I enjoy it.


I do use many online communities (myspace and so on) and recently I found a nice site to meet friends worldwide. I have learnt a lot from other races and cultures. Would recommend it:
Reply:It is acceptable, but I'd advise you to be careful about who you talk to, though. The internet can also contain liars and sexual predators. I don't mean to scare you like that, but it's true.

Reply:There is absolutly nothing wrong with meeting friends online. It's just a more broad social network of people.


I met my Girlfriend of three years in a yahoo chat room. there is always that, myspace and such.


There are probably people that feel the same way you do doing the same thing. Give it a try.
